Traffic Report Statistics

E-ZPass: An electronic toll collection system, often utilized by drivers who use toll roads and bridges frequently.  In the Traffic Report, this statistic is awarded to the hitter who uses K Street the most in a single game, series, and over the course of the 2012 season.  That is, an E-ZPass is awarded to the hitter who strikes out the most against Nats pitchers.

HOV-2: Literally "High Occupancy Vehicle 2."  In the Washington, DC, area, lanes designated as HOV-2 can only be used by cars carrying at least two passengers.  In the Traffic Report, this statistic is awarded to any Nats pitcher who strikes out two hitters in an inning.

HOV-3: Literally "High Occupancy Vehicle 3."  In the Washington, DC, area, lanes designated as HOV-3 can only be used by cars carrying at least three passengers.  In the Traffic Report, this statistic is awarded to any Nats pitcher who strikes out three hitters in an inning.
